The default split by the number of players; what rounding leaves goes to the first place.
How the calculator works
- The pool is the sum of all buy-ins and rebuys.
- It suggests how many places to pay from the number of players – roughly every fifth to tenth place.
- Every prize is rounded down to the chosen step and the rest goes to first place, so exactly the whole pool is paid out.
- You can overwrite the percentages; together they must make 100%.
Common splits by the number of players
| Players | Split in % |
|---|---|
| 2–3 | 100 |
| 4–6 | 65 / 35 |
| 7–10 | 50 / 30 / 20 |
| 11–15 | 45 / 27 / 18 / 10 |
| 16–20 | 40 / 25 / 17 / 11 / 7 |
Frequently asked questions
- How many places should be paid?
- Usually every fifth to tenth: three places for eight players, four for fifteen. Fewer paid places mean bigger prizes for the best.
- How do rebuys and an add-on count?
- Each rebuy adds its price to the pool. Enter an add-on with the same price as one more rebuy.
- What happens to the rest after rounding?
- The prizes are rounded down and the rest goes to the winner, so the whole pool is paid out exactly.
- Does the calculator count league points too?
- No, only one tournament's prizes. Points, the season leaderboard and the final are counted by Poker Tracker in a group – for free.
